It was so sad to see how many babies and children died. One family lost two little girls within a day of each other. I'm guessing there was an illness. Ever since I lost my little niece at 12 days old, my heart goes out to the families of these little angels. Now that I have my own little angel (who lately has been a devil!!) I can't imagine life without him.
This cedar tree had tiny branches growing out of its trunk. Very cool textures!
This angel statue looked like she was picking her nose from certain angles. I tried to avoid those!
It seems a bit sacrilegious; a nose-picking angel!

I'm such a fan of cemeteries as well, I don't understand why exactly, but I love how quiet and relaxing they seem to be. Those little angels are heart-breaking, aren't they! What's crazy is that there are still communities in America that have record high infant deaths. Ugh. So sad!
Okay, have to think of something happy! Are you making any new journals this weekend?
No, I worked like mad Thursday on my journals because I was out of town for the weekend. Now I'm too tired to do anything but sit here and blog!
I'm a first time visitor. I just found you in the fora and your post is lovely. I love cemeteries -a perfect place for a quite contemplate about the bittersweet nature of life.
Thanks Natasha! I checked out your blog a little while ago...love the painting on the header!
